Naked Experiment #2 – Full Report at last!!

It’s taken way too long to get here, but the full report on Naked Experiment session #2 is finally complete and available on Amazon UK and Amazon US.

We got six people together, three women and three men, with ages ranging from 22 to 52, to try out a range of situations involving casual nudity. These included:

  • Someone is chosen randomly to be the first one naked, and the group watching them take off all of their clothes.
  • A person is allowed to strip any one person naked.
  • Participants vote on who should be naked, then watch that person undress.
  • Everyone is given the option to get naked together.
  • A presentation where the presenter is presenting their own naked body.
  • An outdoor fully-naked challenge for one participant.
  • …And more!

There are also short interviews with the participants after the session and each participant had the opportunity to pose for a souvenir photo where they are completely naked and the rest of the group is fully clothed (photos NOT shown in the report for privacy reasons).

UK Porn blocker law dropped, at last!

Adult content XXX noticeThe legislation, originally planned to come into force in April 2018, but repeatedly altered, delayed and rubbished by technology experts and privacy campaigners. There were so many holes in the planned implementation, easy ways to avoid the block and serious concerns over privacy, it was just a poorly thought-out mess.

Another problem that got less coverage in the press was the lack of a definition for “porn”. It seemed that any nudity or mature content was at risk of falling foul of the legislation.

Thankfully, common sense won the day.

North East Skinny Dip

It’s that time of year again! Now 7 years old, the annual North East Skinny Dip has taken place again in Druridge Bay in Northumberland, UK. Their most successful event yet saw 737 people braving the far-from-warm North Sea water to raise money for mental health charities. Next year we’ll try to announce it BEFORE it happens!

UK’s only Nudist Pub Under Threat

The Coach and Horse, a pub in Soho, London, believed to be the first and only pub in the country to have a nudist licence, is under threat of takeover by one of the large chain brands. I think it’s safe to say that a national chain is not going to go along with naked events!

A full account of the first Naked Experiment session is now available. Six people (three women and three men) of various ages, get together for a series of experiments involving nudity in various ways and combinations. Is there something sexier about one-sided-nudity?

Lots of people find it psychologically difficult to be naked in front of other people. It can be embarrassing, maybe even humiliating. Most of us experience being naked in front of other people at sports centre/swimming pool/gym locker rooms or during medical appointments, but those are situations where nudity is expected and very much the norm. In the former, it’s common for other people to be naked too which can make it much easier to cope with.

Getting completely naked in a situation where no-one would usually expect to be naked and/or where you are the only one naked and everybody else stays fully clothed can be much more embarrassing and harder to do.

Of course, there are many people out there who are not in the least bit shy, or outright enjoy being seen naked by others, but the majority still struggle with embarrassment and shyness. There are also people out there who get a thrill from the embarrassment.

Naked in a Bristol Bar

Here’s an interesting nudity project that took place in Bristol, UK, this Thursday (15th November). Artist Claudio Ahlers recruited eight volunteers to appear naked in Corner 77, a venue in the Stokes Croft area of the city. The eight participants prepared themselves in private prior to being unveiled to the passing public outside.

The artist said the aim of the project was a celebration of common humanity, to show people of varying ages as their genuine selves. As is often the case, male participants completely outnumbered their female counterparts. Even though male nudity seems far more likely to offend, women are still less likely to be brave or confident enough to be seen naked in public.

To quote the artist, “Yes, nudity is often considered shocking but it has power and shared humility. Vulnerability shows our genuine selves.”

It would be nice to find out about such installations and events before they happen, for once! If you hear about any naked events, please let us know ASAP.
