Yeah a decent GPU is a requirement. Trying to run these on CPU only resources would probably allow you to cook a full fry up on your pc. That CPU is gonna get hot. I might get comfyui installed tomorrow and see how it goes. I have a pretty decent GPU. But even then people say a short video takes a long long time.
::I spent a while on pollo ai looking for answers but couldn’t find any. The thing I found using search engines though. Thebaincomes up with the following
When images are uploaded to AI editing websites or services, they may be used to train or fine-tune the AI model, even if the user doesn’t explicitly consent. This means that user-submitted data, including personal photos, can become part of the AI’s training dataset. However, if you’re training a model on your own computer, your images won’t be shared unless you choose to upload them.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
AI Training:
AI systems, including image generators, rely on vast amounts of data to learn and improve. This data often includes images uploaded by users.
Data Usage:
When you upload images to an AI editing website, it’s likely that the service will use that data to train its model, even if it’s not explicitly stated.
User Responsibility:
It’s crucial to be aware of the potential for your images to be used for training when using AI tools.
Just saying be careful about uploading content you might not to end up being used in other people’s works. And check the policy of the sites you use.
::The bigger issues with AI is the computational power required to be more precise. I have stablediffusion installed for photo creation. You change so many settings to make it better. You can change how many steps it does over the image to make it batter and how much it listens to the prompt and tries to get exact with the cfg setting. The issue is the more iterations you do and the higher the threshold on the on the cfg to pay more attention to the prompt it makes it exponentially longer to generate anything.
It’s not that it’s not clever enough now it absolutely is it’s just with the perfect prompt on a free or cheap service then you arent likely to get a great image/video.
The other thing with all these AI sites is that you basically feed the model every time you use them. Its why companies are very clear you should never upload anything sensitive to them.
::I use a separate patreon to my normal one. Trying to keep this aspect of my life away from the norm. I’m not ashamed of it just don’t want to have all the awkward conversations and looks everytime someone looks at me. I can have whatever image and name I like on patreon then. This is my real name and the photo is of me out on one of my “normal” weekend walks.
Once the account is created can you not update your profile here to change the name?
::I think patreon lets me stay logged in for about 48 hours normally. I leave the site open in my mobile browser rather than closing it and check in a few times throughout the day.
The problem with WordPress template sites is that people tend to build them with one form factor in mind and don’t care about others.
WordPress makes it simple to set up a basic blog/forum site but it still needs a lot of work to make anything even slightly more complicated. I don’t envy your task right now but I am greatful you are doing it!
Maybe instead of copying the mdl list let people downloads their photos and re submit them if they want to that way you start fresh and only the people who want to remain on the list will be there.
You could also if the photos are all in a folder just run a quick script on the folder to download all the photos to your hard drive and then re upload them later.
::Most social media sites have removed dislikes in the last couple of years for a few reasons.
Found this list of reasons why on another website
1. Preventing Negativity and Harassment
2. Mental Health Concerns
3. Focus on Constructive Feedback
4. Engagement Metrics
5. Alternative Features
6. Algorithmic Impact
7. Brand Image and Responsibility
You can see more info about each on the website itself.

::<p style=”text-align: left;”>To be honest to miss the orange. All the boxes are easy enough to read with all the colours in the background but the Orange feels like it keeps a link to history from before. The other boxes stand out bit the feel forced and not natural part of the site.</p>
::Css is fun when playing with your own stuff.
Most CSS files get all the spaces, eol chars and formatting removed making it very hard to read. Also amending anything in case can have serious performance issues.
If it ain’t needed don’t add it is the basic rule with css.
