I have been looking at the entire experiment concept. The aim is to make some tweaks and changes to make the experiments more popular AND easier to get going. I want to make recruitment more direct and clearer. The experiments need to work with smaller groups (I’m thinking 4 people). At present, there isn’t much security in not knowing where the experiment is going to happen and what sort of venue will be used. There are ways around this one.
So far I’ve been focussing mostly on introducing people to nudity and building their confidence around that. After many discussions with community members and people who participated in experiments in the past, it may be better to advertise to people who can already get naked but are looking for a situation where they can experience it. This has the advantage of putting people more in the same boat.
I’m also going to push people to be prepared to travel further.
Obviously, early days right now, but the new plan is taking shape. I want to be able to say here’s what we’re going to do, do you want to take part? I’m still going to insist on at least 50% women. The consistent feedback from women is that they don’t feel safe if outnumbered.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>If I am reading this correctly, you’re switching the focus from introducing being nude and more towards people already “comfortable” being naked but want a challenge that pushes their boundaries?</p>
That sounds a great idea.Given the number of active women in the group do you think it will still be a challenge to have 2 join an experiment?
The other option is all male.
I am interested in either/both options

More moving from introducing nudity, to giving people a situation (or permission, if you prefer) to be naked in. Somewhere safe and secure. Most of the people who express an interest in being naked want a way of being naked in front of other people. The confidence to be naked isn’t the problem, but they lack the opportunity.
Several women here have male profiles. Also, I know some women from other places who visit regular but refuse to sign up for an account here.

The situation that people find the most easiest to be naked are taking part in indoor activities where everyone is already naked and there are no non-naked people to see them: swimming, sauna, naked yoga. There are many opportunities for these in the UK. The problem is to come up with an activity that people can join in which makes some sense to do naked if you aren’t going to hire a swimming pool or book a spa.
The situation that most people find the hardest to be naked is in a public place where anyone can see them and they are the only one naked.

The reason to be naked (or excuse for being naked) is a minor sticking point. Lots of people find it easier to be naked if it’s not their decision (ie it’s the rules, the social norm, or someone in authority has told them to undress). In my experience, lots of people want to experience being the only one naked but the usual routes to being naked in front of other people tend to only include social nudity.
Public nudity is too much of a challenge for most people I talk to. Lots like the “risk” of being caught or seen, but are scared of the implications if that came true.
WNBR gives a reason, a new social norm (we’re all naked and campaigning for a cause) and an opportunity. It even partially solves the public nudity thing by allowing you to feel like part of a crowd instead of the centre of attention.
Normalising nudity and gradually building confidence have a clear place, but it’s hard to do that within the timeframe of an experiment session.
Most people can attend a naked indoor activity, but those I’ve spoken to very much want to step outside the social norms, to experience one-sided nudity etc.
It’s much more complicated than I would have thought when I came into this years ago.

I’d never get involved in social/group nudity so this doesn’t really apply to me. But to “push people to be prepared to travel further”? Do you think that’s ever going to work? People don’t generally like being forced to do something (like adding to their profiles on Patreon). I’ve seen so many attempts to get people together, here and on the old site, like hiring an air B&B, but they’ve never come to anything. But if you’ve discussed with more willing group members, then maybe your proposed changes stand a better chance of coming to fruition. Despite my doubts, I wish you and all potential participants every success. 👍

I don’t think you’re wrong, but I think I’ve seen previous comments from Ed whereby experiments fell apart when candidates realised the distances involved.
I’ve certainly tried to arrange meet-ups a few times and failed for the same reason (plus others).
So, if candidates know beforehand that they’ll need to travel to the South Wales/Bristol area, or some other location that Ed can secure, it will save a lot of time.

So far, most people say they are willing to travel 10-25 miles. In reality, by the time you’ve got in a car or got to the train station, travelling another 10-15 minutes can add another 10+ miles to that.
I always offer (where reasonable) to collect people from train stations etc. and there have been situations where I’ve collected people from their house where is loosely on my route to the location.

As readers, we might have suspected that all four envelopes said NAKED even if you hadn’t admitted it in the report — but Anni obviously didn’t. Or maybe she did suspect that, but the result at least partially suited her.
You said earlier that some people wanted to be “ordered” to do things rather than just being asked. Perhaps for Anni the envelope gave her the justification to try something she wouldn’t have tried without the specific instruction.

I have found that people are prepared to travel further than than to take part in certain nudist events. For example, nudist swimming, some people travel up to 50 miles just to swim in a pool naked (I guess that is about tge distance between regular swimming events). I’ve been on an organised nudist walk (it was only 5 miles or so from me) but discovered people had traveled more than 50 miles just to go for a 5 or so mile walk. And there is a regular disco starkers in London. Haven’t been but I’m guessing people travel even greater distances just to wobble their wobbly bits to some cheesy music! The point is people seem to go out of their way to do anything that involves them being naked!
The question I really have is what do you really have in mind for these new naked experiments?

What do I have in mind for the experiments? Well, most people seem to be looking for opportunities to be naked. The problem with nudist events and activities (swims, yoga etc.) is it normalises nudity. Many people want interesting situations, challenges, the thrill/embarrassment of being the only one naked, or a push to be naked that they would not otherwise receive. There’s a huge range of motivations and I expect to develop many different forms of experiment session over time.
The most important thing is to get people taking part, everything else flows from that. So, to start things off, I’m focussing on an opportunity to be naked without jumping straight into WNBR or a mass skinny dip etc.
What I’ve been doing up to now sort of works, but not very well. I feel a change of approach is wise.

Yes! That is it – “Many people want interesting situations, challenges, the thrill/embarrassment of being the only one naked, or a push to be naked that they would not otherwise receive.” That is exactly it – nudist resorts or nude events are too easy – I am going to the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco (it’s a kink event – so much more than simple nudity) – while that is a thrill, the fact that nudity is nothing special takes the excitement away (but it is still fun to be nude in a sea of people that range from nude to fully dressed”. But there are areas in SF that allow for nudity – but you would likely be the only one nude in most cases. I am more looking forward to visiting those areas and walking the block totally nude amongst clothed people than the Fair itself. The combination of embarrassment and excitement is the emotions I love most!

For me personally, the idea that resonates most is being the only one naked in a small private group, with a clear instruction to undress. That takes the indecision out of it completely — you’re not sitting there wondering should I?, you’re just following the direction. There’s something about that dynamic that makes it feel safer to lean into, even if it’s also the more exposing option.
Looking forward to seeing how the new format shapes up.

I’ve found that well over half of the people I’ve interviewed prefer to be told to undress rather than volunteering. It comes back to the licence thing (where it’s not your responsibility if someone else told you to do it [yes, that’s an oversimplification!]).
I should do a wider poll on this as I suspect most of those who would be happy would not be offended if they were also told to undress.

It’s a shame the audio recording failed on the one where we experimented with an online experiment.
I think you know that I would come, and provided I could be back on the same day with my dog to look after,
I’m not fussed about venue, your rough location would be about the limit I could safely get there and back in a day, and if you needed to scout a venue first, it would probably need to be fairly local to you.
Same as you though, it would have to be 50/50 male/female.

The other thing I’m aware of, other than getting the new experiment format right, is presenting it accurately and clearly so everyone understands what I’m getting at. It’s worth spending the time to get it right.

9th August 2026 at 9:48 pm #3701::
Instead of my “do you think you could do it?” or “Do you want support to do it?” approach I’ve been using, I’m going to assume that everyone who applies both wants to get naked and believes they can. I’m going to focus instead on the safety and privacy offered, and the opportunity for a great experience.
It would be great to find people who want to get involved more than once, but even people who only want to do it once to tick an item off their bucket list will be most welcome.

Yep that sounds like the right approach and should encourage more to take part. I also think that a group of people who don’t know each other would work fine, in some respects it adds to the experience and is probably more comfortable for some as they ‘will never see each other again’

In general, men seem pretty happy to attend a group of people they don’t know. Women are a LOT more wary.
It would help if people chatted more on here and got to know each other. That might also encourage people to travel further which makes sessions more likely as candidates are spread all over the country. It would make like so much easier if I could raise a monthly budget from community patrons so I can afford travel and accommodation to more distant places without having to charge participants. Renting a venue, a night or two’s stay in a hotel and petrol makes it impossible to not charge experiment participants, especially when the longer travel time (ie travelling up the afternoon before the experiment session) means taking time off work too.
If we had 10x as many patrons on average, it would make me a lot more flexible in both range and time.
