I’ve never set my Patreon account to NSFW myself because I’ve been very careful to not post any NSFW content there, and have followed their rules in detail.
If my account is now NSFW, I’m worried as I cannot comply with their NSFW rules. Also, it probably accounts for the fall in new patrons as Patreon will restrict showing the account to a much smaller group.

Check where your connecting from in the US. Different states have different rules. Seattle doesn’t require age checks New york does as an example.

The free opera shows a position on a low resolution map, which may give a clue about the location.
It also shows an IP address (or you can find it out at https :// whatismyipaddress .com but you must do it via the same browser).
You can then look that up at http :// iplocation .com to find out where it is. Currently it’s giving Virginia if I select VPN=Americas and Washington if I select VPN=Optimal Location but it probably varies depending on where you are and how busy the various VPN servers are.

If whatismyipaddress is showing only an IPv6 address, then click on that address instead of using the other site to look it up.
Interestingly, I’ve discovered that although in Opera it is giving me IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, they’re both in different countries — one of which is not even in the continent that I selected when I chose the VPN.
Anyway, the reason for (possibly) wanting to know the VPN location is that although Patreon has only one SFW setting for Naked Experiment, Patreon might possibly vary the way it treats user verification depending on the laws of the country where the VPN is hosted, because that’s where it thinks the access is coming from.

I guess we got sidetracked by the con question.
The main point was the account being flagged as nsfw. Do you have a reason from patron for that..I know som users on there shave shared pictures in the past. Do you still have users with uncensored photos as abatars? Is there a particular reason oatreon can give you for the rating..

Patreon has never told me anything. Nothing on my account (from my view via a VPN) says NSFW.
What I noticed first was a 2/3rds sudden and ongoing drop in traffic to the Patreon page a couple of weeks ago. That prompted me to investigate further.
I’m not aware of any NSFW content in the chats (I’ve always deleted that ASAP).
Also, when I visit it from the UK, no age verification.

If it depends on location for the user and you have to abide by UK law but people outside like in the US can still access without an age check then does that leave you at risk with the UK law? Does your site only have to be age checking people in the UK or does it have to age check anyone everywhere.
We know age checking isn’t a things in some states but is in others and will likely be different around the globe
