I guess I didn’t really discover that I enjoyed being nude outdoors and in public until I was 38 years old and long married. I missed some golden opportunities when I was younger and single.
- being too shy to join in a Truth or Dare game at a party when I was 12
- being too conservative to join in a massive strip poker game with my whole class when I was 15 (people only stripped down to underwear, but still)
- spending five years at university with a clothing-optional beach right there and only visiting it properly once
- playing a strip game with friends in my 20s a few times, but covering up when I removed my underwear
- never going on a nude beach vacation when I was single
These days I’m happy to get naked when it’s socially acceptable, whether the whole group is naked or just me. If I could live those times over again, I’d go for it. But obviously I’m not the person I was at those ages. Still, I think back to those times as missed opportunities.
Does anybody else feel that way? What are some opportunities you missed when you were younger?

Regret is a treacherous beast. There are dozens of occasions where, knowing what I know now, I would have made some very different choices. But…that was then, those occasions long-gone.

Anyone else got stories to share about those missed opportunities? I’m sure there must be many examples of this from many of our members. I think we can all use it as a sort of learning experience about being more confident to grab some opportunities.
My experience with most things in life if that things usually aren’t as bad/scary as you expect them to be.

Not quite the same but I’ve missed opportunities to get naked in public before.
I get to a place and take forever to think of is it safe or not, 99 times out of 100 because I know the place I know it’s safe but I still linger there for far to long thinking about it. I’ll eventually then either be too late to be safe anymore or psych myself out of doing anything.
Would love to try a get naked Challenge on teams again. Have nakedness on the live video controlled somehow by the viewers.

The psyching thing is definitely a big part of it. Honestly, the more comfortable I’ve become with my own nudity, and with being nude with other people in social settings, the less thrilling it has become. But it’s still very enjoyable.
But I think it’s kind of like trying to get into cold water. The more you think about it, the harder it gets to go for it. Best to just jump in.

Things that stop me.
- Wearing too many clothes so they are difficult to remove
- Shoes that need unlacing
- CCTV cameras
- I’m quite shy so other people in public or semi public spaces
- Hearing voices
- Cold weather, though I think I could like rain

Rain, especially on a warm day, feels good. Like taking a shower, but cheaper 🙂 though I don’t have anywhere to try it completely naked.
During lockdown, or soon after, I had been taking a regular 5 mile walk because there wasn’t much else to do. Usually in the afternoon, but there were a couple of weeks of unusual heat when walking wasn’t recommended so I started going out early while it was cooler.
One day, the forecast was rain, but about 11am and I would be home before that. So I set out at 8am as I had done earlier in the week.
About three quarters round, the skies darkened. I checked my phone and it was now showing rain for 10:30 so I though about taking the bus home. Reached the bus shelter, there were a few lightning flashes, a big BANG and probably the heaviest rain I’ve ever seen. Followed by more thunder and lightning. I was glad not to be among the trees.
Eventually the thunder stopped, the rain still heavy and the forecast showing rain for another 20 minutes but the skies much much brighter. At this point I realised my walking trousers were waterproof, it was hot, so I only needed to take off my shirt and could continue the walk home. Yes, the rain felt good.
Skin dries faster than clothing so I arrived home washed and ready dried. I should probably try it some other time, in a place where I could do it naked, but that’s more distant and so far I’ve not spotted a time when the weather and circumstances were appropriate.
