It’s been a bad week (or so) for abusive e-mails and messages. I’ve had two very rude messages on Teams, one PM here and three highly unfriendly e-mails (2 containing a string of expletives). I’m used to receiving the occasional message like this, but this week is off the chart.

Why do people think I’m lying about the age-verification law, lying about the ways the Patreon work, or lying that it’s possible to join for free (which about 80% do!)? Why do some think I am being deliberately awkward, stupid or worse?

I don’t do this to con people. I don’t do this as a full-time career. And I certainly don’t do it to make a fortune (if only!).

And sorry I didn’t tell our US visitors that today is a public holiday in the UK, so I wasn’t online this morning to do age-verification (I wasn’t even at home today).

Most of you are great, and very supportive. I know you have to tolerant every now and again when things go wrong, or I take a while to do something, but I truly don’t think I deserve to be attacked. Seriously!

Absolutely not.  Getting abuse?  Block them if you can, delete them where possible.  We now live in a world, alas, where people can hide behind their phones and screens and deliver abuse, propaganda and utterly valueless opinions, things they wouldn’t dare say in person.
