        …nudity is described as “harmful”?

What is harmful about someone being naked?

We’ve got the government talking about controlling “harmful content” by which they include even partial (non-sexual) nudity.

I agree, it seems that you can watch people killing each other, but not an unclothed body.

I got into an argument the other day where I was told categorically that men’s shorts need to cover their thighs and shorts which exposed thighs should be illegal.  What rubbish. It’s as ridiculous as this swimsuit body nonsense. You don’t need to be perfect before you are allowed to be publicly visible. I swim naked whenever I can, in a speedo when I can’t. I do not apologise for my body, and rather enjoy the shocked faces as I shatter their safe little world where there are rules for everything.
As long as you’re not breaking the law suit yourself.. or not!

No one should ever have to apologise for their body.

I agree it’s completely ridiculous, if we are born naked how could that be harmful for us? I mean clothing is perhaps more likely to give you some kind of allergy or some negative reaction, there’s nothing more natural than being naked, the only people who get really disturbed by that are Puritans and religious fundamentalist who believe that everything natural and pleasurable is therefore evil. Unfortunately now we live in very reactionary times where traditional beliefs and repression are the order of the day. I hope it’s a trend that will reverse soon but I don’t see any signs of that happening.
