Inspiration

The NakedExperiment concept took several years to develop into the website it is today. What you are looking up now is the 4th incarnation of this community, and its generations have been influenced and shaped by our community members.

The media likes to present the world as either mainstream or porn, with nothing in between, but we all know that’s a gross oversimplification, not at all what the world is like. Lots of us, probably most, either like to see people naked, be seen naked or both. It can be art, a challenge, a bit of cheeky fun, exhibitionism or a mix of these. Without an interest in nudity, how much art would not exist? Would charity naked calendars be a thing? Would the World Naked Bike Ride have become a global event if nobody wanted to be naked? Then there are all the nudists/naturists out there; they enjoy being naked too, with a clear and vocal separation from anything sexual.

It’s fun to experiment, stretch your boundaries, explore a curiosity or, sometimes, just push your limits and challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone. This is what this community is all about, but it took a while to get here. We’ve found people have a HUGE range of reactions to just seeing naked people. It can be shock, humour, disgust, a thrill, arousal, embarrassment or even offence.

Between discussions in our forums, reading research from universities, interviews with individual members, surveys and polls and our experiment sessions, we’ve already discovered a huge amount. However, we’ve also learned there is a massive amount still to learn.
